Misys Appoints New Non Executive Director and Chairman Designate

The Board of Misys plc (FTSE: MSY.L) is pleased to announce that Sir James Crosby has been appointed as an independent non-executive Director and Chairman Designate with immediate effect. It is expected that James Crosby will succeed Sir Dominic Cadbury as Chairman during Summer 2009.

James is currently the Senior Independent Director of ITV plc and Compass Group plc, Deputy Chairman of the Financial Services Authority and a trustee of Cancer Research (UK). Three years ago, after almost 30 years in fund management, insurance and banking, he resigned as Chief Executive of HBOS in order to pursue a range of non-executive roles.

Sir Dominic Cadbury, Chairman of Misys plc, said: "I'm delighted to welcome James to Misys. His wide ranging experience in financial services and on boards in the private, public and voluntary sectors will be invaluable to Misys."

Commenting on today's announcement James Crosby said; "I am very pleased to have been asked to help the leadership of Misys build on the excellent progress made in recent years. Dominic has led the Misys Board through major change, establishing Misys as a world class competitor in global banking and financial services and the US Healthcare markets."
