Akademos Latam Expands into Healthcare IT Services via Misys Solutions
Misys EMR® and Misys Tiger® Systems to Provide Foundation for New Electronic Medical Record and Practice Management Services
RALEIGH, N.C. (December 19, 2007) –Misys Healthcare Systems (FTSE: MSY.L), a market leader in healthcare IT, today announced that Akademos Latam Inc. has purchased Misys EMR and Misys Tiger systems as a technology platform to begin offering advanced electronic medical record and practice management services to healthcare providers in Texas and New Mexico. The contract marks Akademos Latam’s initial push into the healthcare vertical market as an Application Service Provider (ASP) and extends the company’s current portfolio of offerings beyond IT consulting and managed services for general business clients.
Scheduled for installation this year, the Misys products seamlessly integrate with one another to give Akademos Latam a complete range of sophisticated features to help optimize the clinical and business operations of medical practices. With electronic medical records, physicians gain fast access to patient information to improve the quality of care via enhanced workflows, diagnostic advice, intuitive prescribing features and pharmacy connections. Practice management capabilities boost office efficiency and help eliminate the time-consuming administrative tasks associated with appointment scheduling, patient communications, and the entire revenue-cycle management process.
