Misys Healthcare Systems Continues Development Of Best In Class Products Through Renewed Iso Certification

Certified Quality Process for Several Misys Products Results in a Faster Release Cycle

RALEIGH, N.C. — May 24, 2006 — Misys Healthcare Systems, a market leader in healthcare IT, announced that BSI Management Systems has certified that Misys’ quality process complies with the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 13485:2003 for several products.  The renewed certificates cover the design, development, production, installation and servicing.   As a result, Misys is able to develop version upgrades faster, with the assurance that its development process is ISO certified, a unique advantage in the industry today.

“We recognize the importance of certifying our quality process in development and production in order to provide effective product upgrade releases quickly, with fewer flaws and faster installation,” said Richard Atkin, president of Misys Healthcare Systems Hospital Systems business unit. “Having our processes ISO-certified sets us apart from other industry players, and we are proud to have achieved re-certification.   These ISO certificates will be even more valuable if they become requirements, as we’ve seen with medical devices in Canada.”
The BSI Management Systems certificates are valid through January 29, 2008 for Misys Laboratory™, with associated modules for Blood Bank and Blood Donor, Microbiology and CoPathPlus™; Misys Commercial Laboratory™; Misys Radiology™; Misys Clinical Financial™; Misys CPR™; Misys Data Warehouse™ and Misys Insight™. This renewed certification, dated April 13, 2006, also covers all Misys locations: Tucson, Ariz.; Plano, Texas; Johnstown, Pa.; Bangalore, India and San Bernardino, Calif.
"The outcome of ISO certification is a faster release cycle," said Patrick O'Sullivan, assistant administrator for Laboratory at Florida Hospital in Orlando. "It also means better quality releases that are more stable and have few problems. It is valuable to us as a client as we continue to upgrade our existing Misys systems."
