Misys statement re: Financial Services Division
Misys plc notes the recent press speculation regarding its Independent Financial Adviser ("IFA") businesses.
As a leading services provider to the IFA industry, Misys has long recognised the importance of distribution in the financial services marketplace. In the light of recent moves by the Financial Services Authority (through its consultation paper "Reforming Polarisation") and the Treasury (through the Sandler Review), and the potential changes in the structure and shape of the personal financial services industry, Misys has appointed Lexicon Partners and Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein to advise it on opportunities to expand and extend its activities in this area.
In this context, Misys has been holding informal discussions with a number of parties including key Life and Pensions product providers.
Kevin Lomax, Chairman, Misys commented: "We believe that the recent announcement by the FSA and the ongoing Sandler Review are positive for the industry as a whole and Misys and its member IFA firms in particular. Misys is committed to the ongoing growth and development of its IFA businesses, supported by the benefits of scale, financial strength and strong provider relations".
