Misys Healthcare Systems Announces Agreements with Two Leading Healthcare Organizations
DMC University Laboratories and St. Mary Medical Center Enhance their Misys Laboratory Systems with the Addition of CoPathPlus®
Tucson, Arizona, August 28, 2002 – Misys Healthcare Systems (formerly Sunquest Information Systems, Inc.), a market leader in healthcare IT, today announced that it has signed expanded contracts with two leading healthcare organizations, Detroit Medical Center (DMC) University Laboratories, located in Detroit, Michigan, and St. Mary Medical Center, located in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. Each contract covers the deployment of the industry leading CoPathPlus® anatomic pathology system from Misys Healthcare Systems. Building upon their existing relationships with Misys, these healthcare organizations aim to streamline their laboratory processes into the anatomic pathology department.

CoPathPlus® from Misys is an anatomic pathology information system designed for the unique workflow requirements of the anatomic pathology department. The system provides healthcare providers with convenient, comprehensive patient and specimen information views and reports. Healthcare providers are able to tailor report formats and incorporate images and diagrams for a clear picture of diagnostic findings. Robust billing features are designed to ensure accurate, complete and timely billing to save time while increasing revenue and improving cash flow.
About DMC University LaboratoriesDMC University Laboratories is a regional, consolidated laboratory system providing services to the 8 DMC hospitals as well as the tri-county Southeastern Michigan community. It has a full infrastructure to support the commercial laboratory business.
The laboratory has a test menu of over 1,000 tests, representing a full menu of laboratory services “in-house” to meet the needs of an academic medical center.
