Revenues and profits ahead in difficult IT market
Misys plc, the global software products and solutions company, announces its interim results for the six months ending 30 November 2002:
Highlights
- Adjusted pre-tax profits* up by 16% to £56m
- Sales 8% higher at £517m – boosted by acquisitions
- Adjusted EPS* increased by 14% to 8.1p
- Interim dividend payable of 2.12p, up by 15%
- Banking and Securities – resilient performance in tough conditions
- Healthcare – strong demand across all business units
- Financial Services – results well ahead of last year
Kevin Lomax, Misys Chairman said:
“Despite continuing difficult market conditions throughout the first half of the year, the Group’s trading results improved. These solid results derive from the essential nature of the markets we serve, the strength and diversity of our business activities and the skill and commitment of our experienced management teams.”
* Adjusted to exclude goodwill amortisation (2001: also excludes exceptional items and the investment in B2C Internet Services). After accounting for these items, our reported profit before taxation is £25m (2001: £2m) and earnings per share is 2.6p (2001: loss of 0.1p).
