Misys Pharmacy™
Misys Pharmacy enables hospital pharmacies to cost-effectively facilitate safe medication usage by minimizing side effects and toxicity risks. A key factor to achieving these clinical drug therapy goals is consistent and proper dose selection. A Dose Range Checking (DRC) feature uses advanced technologies to monitor dose appropriateness while considering patient demographic information including height, weight, age, and the medical indication for each medication during order entry. DRC compares the dose, frequency, and duration of a medication order against an established dose range in conjunction with the patient-specific information. If the dose is out of range, the clinician is notified to take appropriate clinical action. Clinicians have the option to turn “off” or “on” alerts globally for all drugs or specific drugs. DRC includes a dose range record that establishes reference values and a dose range analysis window that displays out of range values with prescribed and reference values. Misys Pharmacy users can also create customized dose range records with DRC.
Misys Insight™
Misys Insight is a clinical decision support system that monitors, integrates and analyzes HL7-compliant data from disparate hospital and clinical information systems and provides clinicians, physicians and other medical personnel with immediate delivery of critical data via pager, cell phone, email, or other specified devices. Data are filtered so that only relevant information is sent and received, empowering clinicians to reduce or prevent medical errors.
