The Misys Charitable Foundation was created in 1997 with the goal of furthering education in information and communications technology worldwide. Its work focuses on three key areas: university scholarships, in the UK and overseas; funding for information technology (IT) equipment in UK state schools; and IT-related support for charities working in communities.

The Foundation is funded directly through donations from Misys plc, the global software company, whose Board is firmly committed to the Foundation's aims. One of these aims is to strengthen ties with the company's own 6,000 employees worldwide - many of whom are personally involved in local community and charitable activities - so they can share the pride the Foundation takes in the achievements of its scholars and partners.

The Foundation has provided and pledged over £1 million in total to date, which has primarily been used to support individuals in the form of university scholarships, with the balance helping schools and community projects.

Please note that scholarships are awarded on the recommendation of the Foundation's partner institutions and not to individual applicants.
